  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; WHEAT AND BARLEY SCAB 
  1.6   RESEARCH.] 
  1.7      $1,624,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   university of Minnesota as funding for research on wheat and 
  1.9   barley diseases, primarily head scab.  This appropriation is in 
  1.10  addition to other public and nonpublic money for scab research.  
  1.11  $816,000 of this appropriation is available for the fiscal year 
  1.12  ending June 30, 1998, and the balance is available for the 
  1.13  fiscal year ending June 30, 1999.
