  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 115A.908, 
  1.10  subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.11     Subd. 2.  [DEPOSIT OF REVENUE.] Revenue collected shall be 
  1.12  credited to the motor vehicle transfer account in the 
  1.13  environmental fund contaminated site redevelopment and job 
  1.14  creation account in the general fund. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [REPEALER.] 
  1.16     Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 115A.908, subdivision 3, 
  1.17  is repealed. 
  1.18     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.19     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1997.  Section 2 is 
  1.20  effective the day following final enactment.
