1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to gambling; regulating gambling at retail 1.3 liquor establishments; amending Minnesota Statutes 1.4 1996, section 340A.410, subdivision 5. 1.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 340A.410, 1.7 subdivision 5, is amended to read: 1.8 Subd. 5. [GAMBLING PROHIBITED.] (a) No retail 1.9 establishment licensed to sell alcoholic beverages may keep, 1.10 possess, or operate, or permit the keeping, possession, or 1.11 operation on the licensed premises ofdice orany gambling 1.12 device as defined in section 349.30, or permit gambling therein 1.13 except as provided in this subdivision. 1.14 (b) Gambling equipment may be kept or operated and raffles 1.15 conducted on licensed premises and adjoining rooms when the use 1.16 of the gambling equipment is authorized by (1) chapter 349, (2) 1.17 a tribal ordinance in conformity with the Indian Gaming 1.18 Regulatory Act, Public Law Number 100-497, or (3) a tribal-state 1.19 compact authorized under section 3.9221. 1.20 (c) Lottery tickets may be purchased and sold within the 1.21 licensed premises as authorized by the director of the lottery 1.22 under chapter 349A.
