  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.7      The amount needed, up to a maximum of $......., is 
  1.8   appropriated from the general fund to the Great Lakes commission 
  1.9   in fiscal year 1998 for the state's pro rata share of the cost 
  1.10  of the new Poe Lock at Sault Ste. Marie Narrows in the Great 
  1.11  Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway System.
