  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to local government; authorizing removal and 
  1.3             reinterment of bodies in the city of Luverne. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [CITY AUTHORIZATION.] 
  1.6      The city of Luverne, by resolution adopted by a majority 
  1.7   vote of the city council, upon petition of at least six 
  1.8   residents, may authorize the removal of bodies from the old 
  1.9   Maplewood cemetery and reinterment of the bodies in the new 
  1.10  Maplewood cemetery.  Prior to adopting any such resolution, the 
  1.11  city shall provide published notice as provided in Minnesota 
  1.12  Statutes, section 645.11, for a period of three weeks, of its 
  1.13  intention to consider such action. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     This act is effective on approval by the Luverne city 
  1.16  council and compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021.
