  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to energy; requiring commissioner of 
  1.3             administration to encourage the purchase and 
  1.4             development of renewable energy supplies; proposing 
  1.5             coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 16B. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [16B.127] [PURCHASING RENEWABLE ENERGY.] 
  1.8      The commissioner of administration, in consultation and 
  1.9   cooperation with the commissioner of public service, shall 
  1.10  represent the state as a large energy purchaser in affirmatively 
  1.11  encouraging and fostering the development, planning, and use of 
  1.12  renewable energy supplies and resources, as defined in section 
  1.13  216B.2422, subdivision 1, paragraph (c).
