1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to education; providing that the state shall 1.3 not subsidize college courses retaken by a student who 1.4 did not earn a passing grade; amending Minnesota 1.5 Statutes 1994, section 135A.03, subdivision 3a. 1.6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.7 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 135A.03, 1.8 subdivision 3a, is amended to read: 1.9 Subd. 3a. [EXCLUSIONS FROM ENROLLMENT.] Student enrollment 1.10 for the purposes of average cost funding shall not include: 1.11 (1) any undergraduate students who do not meet the 1.12 residency criteria established under subdivision 7; 1.13 (2) students enrolled in courses for which the students 1.14 previously received a grade of D, F, or incomplete; 1.15 (3) enrollment in extension at the technical colleges; and 1.16(3)(4) students enrolled in recreational or leisure-time 1.17 activity courses, except for those students enrolled in a 1.18 degree-granting program for whom the credits would apply toward 1.19 a baccalaureate degree.
