  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; providing for a referendum to 
  1.3             fund extracurricular activities; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 1994, section 124A.03, by adding a 
  1.5             subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 124A.03, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 2c.  [EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES REFERENDUM.] (a) A 
  1.10  school board may conduct an election under subdivision 2 for the 
  1.11  purpose of funding extracurricular activities.  
  1.12     (b) The amount of the referendum shall not exceed $200 per 
  1.13  pupil unit.  This amount shall not be considered in determining 
  1.14  a district's referendum amount limit under subdivision 1c.
