  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $200,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of human services for the purposes of providing 
  1.8   compliance grants to an Indian child welfare defense 
  1.9   corporation, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, section 257.3571, 
  1.10  subdivision 2a, to be available until June 30, 1997.
