  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the city of Hastings; modifying a tax 
  1.3             increment financing district. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [DISTRICT EXTENSION.] 
  1.6      Notwithstanding the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.7   section 469.176, subdivision 1c, the Housing and Redevelopment 
  1.8   Authority may collect and expend tax increments from the 
  1.9   downtown redevelopment tax increment financing district, located 
  1.10  within the city of Hastings, after April 1, 2001, for eligible 
  1.11  activities within the district.  The authority under this 
  1.12  section expires December 31, 2006. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE; LOCAL APPROVAL.] 
  1.14     This section is effective upon compliance by the governing 
  1.15  body of the city of Hastings with Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.16  645.021, subdivision 2.
