  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to highways; directing commissioner of 
  1.3             transportation to erect noise barriers along segment 
  1.4             of marked trunk highway No. 169 as a high priority 
  1.5             project. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [NOISE BARRIERS.] 
  1.8      The commissioner of transportation shall, as a high 
  1.9   priority project during the 1995-1996 biennium, construct noise 
  1.10  barriers adjacent to the northbound lane of marked trunk highway 
  1.11  No. 169 in New Hope, between Bass Lake Road and 62nd Avenue 
  1.12  North, sufficient so that noise levels emanating from the 
  1.13  highway do not exceed state noise standards within one-eighth 
  1.14  mile east of the noise barriers. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.16     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
