1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to consumer protection; regulating buying, 1.3 health, and social referral clubs; requiring notice of 1.4 unlicensed child care services; amending Minnesota 1.5 Statutes 1994, section 325G.25, subdivision 2, and by 1.6 adding subdivisions. 1.7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.8 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 325G.25, is 1.9 amended by adding a subdivision to read: 1.10 Subd. 1b. A club that provides unlicensed day care 1.11 services shall include the following notice clearly and 1.12 conspicuously in bold face type of a minimum size of 14 points 1.13 in every contract: "THE CHILD CARE PROVIDED IS NOT LICENSED BY 1.14 THE STATE OF MINNESOTA." 1.15 Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 325G.25, 1.16 subdivision 2, is amended to read: 1.17 Subd. 2. Every contract which does not contain thenotice1.18 notices specified in this section, including the notice 1.19 specified in subdivision 1b if applicable, may be canceled by 1.20 the member at any time by giving notice of cancellation by any 1.21 means. 1.22 Sec. 3. Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 325G.25, is 1.23 amended by adding a subdivision to read: 1.24 Subd. 3. In addition to providing the notice required by 1.25 subdivision 1b in its contracts, a club that provides unlicensed 1.26 child care services shall post a notice in every business 2.1 location where the service is offered that the child care 2.2 service is not licensed. The club shall prominently display the 2.3 following notice of a minimum size of not less than 12 inches by 2.4 24 inches in a manner visible to persons bringing children to 2.5 the service: "THE CHILD CARE PROVIDED IS NOT LICENSED BY THE 2.6 STATE OF MINNESOTA."
