Adopted or Adopted With Modifications

A rule is adopted by an agency when the agency signs an order adopting the rule. The adopted rule is not effective until notice of its adoption is published in the State Register. The agency may not publish the notice of adoption unless the Office of Administrative Hearings and the Office of the Revisor of Statutes have approved the rule. The effective date of the rule is often determined from the date when the notice of adoption appears in the State Register.
