A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a permanent campus location
for MICC and residential space for program participants.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $7,024,000 in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to Minnesota Independence College
& Community (MICC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to design, construct, furnish,
and equip improvements and betterments of a capital nature in a new building in the city
of Richfield to serve as a permanent location for MICC and provide residential space for
first year program participants. This appropriation is onetime and is available until the
project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
