relating to economic development; appropriating money for a grant to the city of
Virginia.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin CITY OF VIRGINIA; ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.

new text begin $100,000 in fiscal year 2018 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to the city of Virginia to be used for
grants to city businesses for infrastructure revitalization and code compliance. In making
grants, the city must give preference to projects that promote economic development and
that include private dollar contributions.
