1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to ethics in government; economic disclosure; 1.3 requiring disclosures concerning immediate family 1.4 members and certain contracts and other arrangements; 1.5 amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 10A.09, 1.6 subdivision 5. 1.7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.8 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 10A.09, 1.9 subdivision 5, is amended to read: 1.10 Subd. 5. [FORM.] A statement of economic interest required 1.11 by this section must be on a form prescribed by the board. The 1.12 individual filing must provide the following 1.13 information regarding the individual and each member of the 1.14 individual's immediate family: 1.15 (1) name, address, occupation, and principal place of 1.16 business; 1.17 (2) the name of each associated business and the nature of 1.18 that association; 1.19 (3) a listing of all real property within the state, 1.20 excluding homestead property, in which the individual or a 1.21 member of the individual's immediate family holds: (i) a fee 1.22 simple interest, a mortgage, a contract for deed as buyer or 1.23 seller, or an option to buy, whether direct or indirect, if the 1.24 interest is valued in excess of $2,500; or (ii) an option to 1.25 buy, if the property has a fair market value of $50,000 or more; 1.26 (4) a listing of all real property within the state in 2.1 which a partnership, of which the individual or a member of the 2.2 individual's immediate family is a member, holds: (i) a fee 2.3 simple interest, a mortgage, a contract for deed as buyer or 2.4 seller, or an option to buy, whether direct or indirect, if the 2.5 individual's share of the partnership interest is valued in 2.6 excess of $2,500; or (ii) an option to buy, if the property has 2.7 a fair market value of $50,000 or more. A listing under clause 2.8 (3) or (4) must indicate the street address and the municipality 2.9 or the section, township, range and approximate acreage, 2.10 whichever applies, and the county in which the property is 2.11 located;and2.12 (5) a listing of any investments, ownership, or interests 2.13 in property connected with pari-mutuel horse racing in the 2.14 United States and Canada, including a race horse, in which the 2.15 individual directly or indirectly holds a partial or full 2.16 interest or an immediate family member holds a partial or full 2.17 interest; and 2.18 (6) any contract or other arrangement under which the 2.19 individual or a member of the individual's immediate family will 2.20 perform services for compensation as a consultant, employee, or 2.21 independent contractor for a person or entity other than the 2.22 state. Disclosure under this clause must include the person or 2.23 entity for which services will be performed, the duration of the 2.24 arrangement, and the compensation the individual or immediate 2.25 family member will receive under the arrangement.
