A bill for an act
relating to highways; appropriating money to continue
operations of safety rest areas.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $2,000,000 in fiscal year 2006 and $2,000,000 in fiscal
year 2007 are appropriated from the trunk highway fund to the
commissioner of transportation for the operation of safety rest
areas on interstate and other trunk highways. This
appropriation is in addition to any other appropriation for
those fiscal years for this purpose. If the appropriation for
either year is insufficient, the appropriation for the other
year is available. Until July 1, 2007, the commissioner may not
close any safety rest area on an interstate or other trunk
highway.
