A bill for an act
relating to public safety; repealing certain restrictions relating to part-time peace
officers; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 626.8465, subdivision 2;
repealing Minnesota Statutes 2006, sections 626.8465, subdivision 3; 626.8468,
subdivision 1.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 626.8465, subdivision 2, is amended to
read:

Subd. 2.

Part-time peace officer license, restriction.

subdivision 1, deleted text end Any individual licensed by the board as a part-time peace officer shall
be eligible for appointment or employment anywhere in the state as a part-time peace
officer but not as a peace officer unless the individual meets board training and licensing
requirements then in effect for peace officers.
