124D.87 INTERDISTRICT DESEGREGATION OR INTEGRATION Next TRANSPORTATION AID.

(a) A Previous district Next that provides transportation of pupils to and from an interdistrict program for desegregation or Previous integration Next purposes is eligible for state aid to reimburse the additional costs of transportation during the preceding fiscal year.

(b) A Previous district Next in the metropolitan area may apply to the commissioner for state aid to reimburse the costs of transporting pupils who are enrolled under section 124D.03 during the preceding fiscal year if the enrollment of the student in the nonresident Previous district Next contributes to desegregation or Previous integration Next purposes. The commissioner shall develop the form and manner of applications for state aid, the criteria to be used to determine when transportation is for desegregation or Previous integration Next purposes, and the accounting procedure to be used to determine excess costs. In determining aid amounts, the commissioner shall consider other revenue received by the Previous district Next for transportation for desegregation or Previous integration purposes.
