E "Telecommunications Consumer Privacy Act"; classifying and providing for the
privacy of telecommunications customer information, defining customer
information; restricting disclosure of or access to customer information
obtained by telecommunications service providers; requiring annual notice to
customers of the right to control disclosure of and access to information;
requiring and providing for customer consent for release, requiring the public
utilities commission to develop and issue a method for customer consent by
electronic means and specifying certain consent content requirements; requiring
and providing for expeditious resolution of consumer complaints submitted to
telecommunications service providers; requiring provider compliance with certain
customer protection standards relating to rates, terms and conditions;
restricting discontinuation of local service; providing for attorney general
enforcement of the requirements; requiring the PUC to require telecommunications
service providers providing local telecommunications services to provide certain
subscriber list information upon request for telephone directories publication
purposes; protecting certain existing information disclosure authority of the
