1E Relating to health

Article 1

Implementing health care cost containment
measures; requiring the commissioner of human services to encourage the adoption
of electronic billing for state programs; authorizing the commissioner of health
to post certain information on the agency web site, requiring the commissioner
to consult and work in cooperation with the commissioner commerce; clarifying
state board of chiropractic examiners licensing requirements; establishing fees
for acupuncture registration and reinstatement; clarifying a certain explanation
of pharmacy benefits provision; requiring health related licensing boards to
establish a directory of licensees by a certain date; requiring each health
related licensing board to annually inform and remind licensees of price
disclosure requirements; requiring the commissioner of human services in
consultation with the health services policy committee to consider the potential
for improving quality and obtaining cost savings through greater use of
alternative and complementary treatment methods and clinical practice, requiring
the commissioners of human services and health to evaluate the current access to
care; authorizing the commissioner of health to consult with various individuals
to obtain recommendations regarding a determination of the need for action to
implement health care associated infection control reporting; requiring the
commissioner of health to study and report to the legislature by a certain date
on uncompensated care; requiring the medical director for medical assistance and
the assistant commissioner for chemical and mental health services under the
commissioner of human services in conjunction with the mental health licensing
boards to evaluate the requirements for licensed mental health practitioners to
receive medical assistance reimbursement; appropriating money to the board of
chiropractic examiners to correct programming difficulties

Article 2

Modifying
provisions under the women's right to know act; defining fetal anomaly
incompatible with life and perinatal hospice; requiring women seeking the
abortion of unborn children with fetal anomaly incompatible with life to be
informed of available perinatal hospice services and offered this care as an
alternative to abortion; restricting applicants for audiology licensure to
dispense hearing aids under the supervision of licensed audiologists, modifying
licensure following lapse of licensure status, modifying continuing education
requirements, requiring the commissioner of health to contract with health
professionals services program to provide services to practitioners; providing
for commissioner of health approval of occupational therapists practitioner
applications upon review of specific courses meeting theoretical and clinical
requirements; modifying continuing education requirements; requiring the
commissioner of health to contract with health professionals services program to
provide services to practitioners; relating to hearing instrument dispensing,
requiring the commissioner of health to contract with health professionals
services program to provide services to practitioners
