2E Requiring the commissioner of office of higher education to establish a
competitive grant program to award grants for Alzheimer's disease and other
dementias research and creating a grant program for a public awareness campaign;
expanding and specifying certain duties of the board on aging; specifying
eligibility criteria for statewide dementia grants and regional and local
dementia grants; requiring the board to design and implement an ongoing
statewide public information program; establishing and providing for an
Alzheimer's research advisory council; appropriating money to the commissioner
of the officer of higher education for Alzheimer's research grants and to the
commissioner of human services for the Minnesota board on aging for research
grants and activities
