A bill for an act
relating to taxation; tax rebates; limiting eligibility for tax rebate payments to
individuals with a Social Security number; proposing coding for new law in
Minnesota Statutes, chapter 289A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

[289A.52] LIMITATIONS ON TAX REBATE PAYMENTS.

(a) For the purposes of this section, "tax rebate" means any rebate of income or sales
taxes, economic impact payment, economic stimulus payment, or disaster relief payment.

(b) The commissioner must limit payments of any tax rebate authorized in law to
individuals otherwise eligible for the rebate who possess a Social Security number.

EFFECTIVE DATE.

This section is effective the day following final enactment.
