A bill for an act
relating to economic development; appropriating money for a pilot art incubator
and creative enterprise center.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $175,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to the Asian Economic
Development Association (AEDA) to establish an arts and culture incubator to create
economic opportunities for Southeast Asian artists, especially women and LGBTQ artists.
The pilot incubator project must provide ten women and LGBTQ artists with the support
and space they need to refine their products and implement their business plans for scaled
production, including brand promotion of their products and finding distribution channels.
