relating to human services; establishing a onetime grant for a pilot project to serve
victims of elder abuse; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; SAFE CARE PILOT PROJECT.

new text begin $300,000 in fiscal year 2020 and $300,000 in fiscal year 2021 are appropriated from the
general fund to the commissioner of human services for the nondirect care staffing costs of
two safe care pilot projects for elderly living, administered by a single provider at two sites,
one located in Detroit Lakes and the other located in North Branch. The safe care pilot
projects must provide safe shelter, care, and support to victims of elder abuse. This is a
onetime appropriation.
