relating to public safety; appropriating money for fire department equipment grants.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; FIRE DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT GRANTS.

new text begin $10,000,000 in fiscal year 2022 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of public safety for grants to fire departments for the reimbursement of costs incurred in
the purchase of gear washer-extractor or dryer equipment. The commissioner shall make
the grants pursuant to the recommendations of the Fire Service Advisory Committee
established under Minnesota Statutes, section 299F.012, subdivision 2. This is a onetime
appropriation.
