1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. COST-SHARE POLICY.
1.6The commissioner of transportation, in consultation with representatives of local
1.7units of government, shall create and adopt a policy concerning cost participation
1.8for cooperative construction projects and maintenance responsibilities between the
1.9Department of Transportation and local units of government. The policy must minimize
1.10the share of cooperative project costs to be funded by the local units of government,
1.11while complying in all respects with the state constitutional requirements concerning
1.12allowable uses of the trunk highway fund. The policy must be completed and adopted by
1.13the commissioner no later than September 1, 2015.
1.14EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
