A bill for an act
relating to transportation; capital investment; appropriating money for highway
safety improvements in Dakota County.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. COUNTY STATE-AID HIGHWAY 66 AND TRUNK HIGHWAY 52
SAFETY IMPROVEMENT; APPROPRIATION.

$15,000,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of transportation for a grant to Dakota County to improve safety at the intersection of County
State-Aid Highway 66 and marked Trunk Highway 52 in Vermillion Township. This
appropriation includes money to construct an interchange in the vicinity of County State-Aid
Highway 66 and County State-Aid Highway 62 to eliminate the current intersections and
improve safety. The new interchange will include a bridge at marked Trunk Highway 52
with ramps connecting the county road and additional highway improvements to address
changes to property access and meet current design standards. This project is proposed in
collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

EFFECTIVE DATE.

This section is effective the day following final enactment.
