relating to state lands; requiring approval of state acquisition of real property in
fee; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 16B.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin For purposes of this section, "agency" means an agency
as defined in section 16B.01, subdivision 2, and the Board of Trustees of the Minnesota
State Colleges and Universities.

new text begin No agency may acquire real property in fee unless
the acquisition is approved by:

new text begin (1) the legislature during a regular session; and

new text begin (2) the board of commissioners of the county in which the property is located.
