  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to education; appropriating money for 
  1.3             physical fitness equipment contingent upon a private 
  1.4             in-kind contribution. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $30,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   commissioner of children, families, and learning in fiscal year 
  1.9   1998 for the purpose of providing funding to independent school 
  1.10  district No. 99, Esko, so that the district can develop and 
  1.11  operate a community health and physical fitness center offering 
  1.12  district residents programs in community health and fitness, 
  1.13  athletic training services, and physical therapy.  This 
  1.14  appropriation is contingent upon the school district obtaining a 
  1.15  $30,000 in-kind contribution of physical fitness equipment from 
  1.16  a private source that is made permanently available to the 
  1.17  community health and physical fitness center.
