relating to higher education; establishing a bioscience center of excellence;
appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $3,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Board of Trustees of the
Minnesota State Colleges and Universities for the fiscal biennium ending June 30,
2009, for establishing a biosciences center of excellence using innovative approaches
exemplified by design features, such as integrated programs and services focused on
high-need bioscience business and industry in Minnesota. The center will incorporate
integrated delivery and support in collaboration with other colleges and universities and
K-12 entities; high-quality instruction, service, and applied research; and career and
instruction pathways.
