  1.3             Nashwauk to own and operate a gas utility. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [NASHWAUK GAS UTILITY.] 
  1.6      The city of Nashwauk may own and operate a gas utility 
  1.7   pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, chapter 412, without an election 
  1.8   under Minnesota Statutes, section 412.321, subdivision 2. 
  1.9      Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.10     Section 1 is effective the day after compliance by the city 
  1.11  of Nashwauk with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, 
  1.12  subdivision 3.
