A bill for an act
relating to elections; eliminating ten percent requirement for major political party
nomination; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 204D.10, subdivision 1;
repealing Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 204D.10, subdivision 2.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 204D.10, subdivision 1, is amended to
read:


Subdivision 1.

Partisan offices; nominees.

The candidate for nomination of a
major political party for a partisan office on the state partisan primary ballot who receives
the highest number of votes shall be the nominee of that political party for that officedeleted text begin ,
