A bill for an act
relating to health; providing funds to eliminate health disparities for women of
African descent in Minnesota; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; WOMEN'S HEALTH CLINIC.

new text begin $350,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2017 from the general fund to the
commissioner of health for a grant to a health care nonprofit organization to be used
for the planning of a health clinic located in Minneapolis that will provide culturally
specific health care services to women of African descent in order to improve access to
maternal health and preventive care, reduce infant mortality, and increase health literacy.
The grant recipient must submit to the commissioner the plans for the women's health
clinic by January 15, 2017.
