  1.1                          A bill for an act

  1.3             political subdivisions of the state from purchasing 
  1.4             products from Dakota Premium Foods. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [PURCHASES FROM DAKOTA PREMIUM FOODS 
  1.7   PROHIBITED.] 
  1.8      The state or any political subdivision of the state may not 
  1.9   purchase any products or enter into a contract to purchase 
  1.10  products from Dakota Premium Foods in South St. Paul until 
  1.11  Dakota Premium Foods or its representatives have made a good 
  1.12  faith effort to negotiate a collective bargaining agreement with 
  1.13  the representatives of Local 789 of the United Food and 
  1.14  Commercial Workers Union. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.16     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
