  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to public facilities; removing restrictions 
  1.3             on competition; proposing coding for new law in 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes, chapter 471. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [471.155] [COMPETITION FOR EVENTS.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, no publicly 
  1.8   owned civic center, community center, arena, stadium, or park is 
  1.9   precluded by law from competing or bidding to serve as the venue 
  1.10  for a civic, cultural, commercial, educational, entertainment, 
  1.11  sports, or other event. 
  1.12     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.13     This act is effective the day following final enactment.
