  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to municipalities; housing and redevelopment 
  1.3             authority officers; adding an exception to conflict of 
  1.4             interest provisions; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, 
  1.5             section 471.88, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 471.88, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 19.  [LOAN FOR HRA OFFICER, IF DISCLOSED.] If a city 
  1.10  or county housing and redevelopment authority, or an agency 
  1.11  having the powers of a city or county housing and redevelopment 
  1.12  authority, administers a loan or grant program with state or 
  1.13  federal funds, the authority may make a grant or loan from these 
  1.14  funds to a public officer of the authority who applies, if the 
  1.15  public officer first discloses, as part of the official minutes 
  1.16  of a meeting of the authority, that the public officer has 
  1.17  applied for the funds and the public officer abstains from 
  1.18  voting on the public officer's application.
