A bill for an act
relating to transportation; permitting specific service signs at two locations under
certain circumstances; amending Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 160.293,
subdivision 3.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 160.293, subdivision 3, is amended to read:
new text begin (a) Unless
otherwise provided in paragraph (b), new text end a specific service sign for a rural agricultural or
tourist-oriented business, place of worship, restaurant, motel, resort, recreational camping
area, or gasoline service station or other retail motor fuel business is limited to one
intersection or interchange on the trunk highway system.
new text begin (b) Specific service signs are permitted at two intersections or interchanges on the
trunk highway system if the place of business is located (1) more than one-half mile from
the nearest trunk highway intersection or interchange, and (2) within five miles of two or
more trunk highways.new text end Additional signing may be considered when the place of business is
located between, or approximately an equal distance from, two or more trunk highways.
