A bill for an act
relating to horse racing; providing for certain occupational licenses; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 240.08, by adding a subdivision.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 240.08, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

The commission may issue a license to
an applicant otherwise disqualified pursuant to section 240.08, subdivision 2, clause
(b), for an occupation that does not involve gaming operations, security, surveillance, or
the handling of pari-mutuel or card club revenues, provided that the applicant has not
been convicted of a felony or a crime involving fraud or misrepresentation within ten
years of application, has never been convicted of a gambling-related offense, does not
have a felony charge pending, has been discharged from any supervision related to the
disqualifying offense for a period of at least five years and is not required to register
pursuant to section 243.166.
