  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; requiring permits to be 
  1.3             issued for a taconite pellet production facility. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [PERMITS TO BE ISSUED.] 
  1.6      The Pollution Control Agency, Environmental Quality Board, 
  1.7   Department of Natural Resources, and any other state agency with 
  1.8   applicable permit-granting authority shall, within three months 
  1.9   of the effective date of this section, grant all necessary 
  1.10  permits for a commercial value-added taconite pellet production 
  1.11  facility with an annual production tonnage of 2,000,000 or less 
  1.12  to a pilot facility that has been operating in the state for six 
  1.13  months or more producing value-added taconite pellet product. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
