  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to housing; providing for a shelter charge on 
  1.3             some tribally owned property; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 1998, section 469.040, by adding a 
  1.5             subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 469.040, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 5.  [TRIBALLY RECOGNIZED HOUSING ENTITIES.] If 
  1.10  property owned by a tribally recognized housing entity as 
  1.11  defined in United States Code, title 25, section 4103, paragraph 
  1.12  (21), is a housing project or a housing development project, as 
  1.13  defined in section 469.002, subdivisions 13 and 15, that 
  1.14  property is subject to subdivision 3.
