  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; appropriating money for a loan 
  1.3             to independent school district No. 535, Rochester, for 
  1.4             special education services. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 535, 
  1.7   ROCHESTER; LOAN.] 
  1.8      $300,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 1999 from the 
  1.9   general fund to the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.10  learning for a loan to independent school district No. 535, 
  1.11  Rochester, for the unreimbursed costs of a new program providing 
  1.12  special education services.  Of this amount, $150,000 is for 
  1.13  unreimbursed costs associated with the program in fiscal year 
  1.14  1998 and $150,000 is for unreimbursed costs associated with the 
  1.15  program in fiscal year 1999.  Beginning in fiscal year 2000 and 
  1.16  for the following seven years independent school district No. 
  1.17  535, Rochester, shall pay back the loan without interest in 
  1.18  equal installments.
