A bill for an act
relating to higher education; funding for NextGen at the Minnesota State Colleges
and Universities; appropriating money.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. new text begin MEMBER COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES; PAYMENT
PROHIBITION.

The Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities is prohibited
from requiring its member colleges and universities to individually pay for the NextGen
project and further improvements to the Integrated Statewide Record System.

Sec. 2. new text begin APPROPRIATION; NEXTGEN.

$70,000,000 in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated from the general fund to the Board of
Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities to fully fund the NextGen project
that upgrades the Integrated Statewide Record System. This is a onetime appropriation and
is available until June 30, 2025.
