1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to gambling; card clubs; eliminating the 1.3 maximum table requirement; amending Minnesota Statutes 1.4 2002, section 240.30, subdivision 8. 1.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 240.30, 1.7 subdivision 8, is amended to read: 1.8 Subd. 8. [LIMITATIONS.] The commission may not approve any 1.9 plan of operation under subdivision 6 that exceeds any of the 1.10 following limitations: 1.11 (1)the maximum number of tables used for card playing at1.12the card club at any one time, other than tables used for1.13instruction, demonstrations, or tournament play, may not exceed1.1450. The table limit exception for tournament play is allowed1.15for only one tournament per year that lasts for no longer than1.1614 days;1.17(2)except as provided in clause(3)(2), no wager may 1.18 exceed $60; 1.19(3)(2) for games in which each player is allowed to make 1.20 only one wager or has a limited opportunity to change that 1.21 wager, no wager may exceed $300.
