A bill for an act
relating to the legislative auditor; providing certain carryforward authority to the
office of the legislative auditor.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin LEGISLATIVE AUDITOR; CARRYFORWARD AUTHORITY.

new text begin The restrictions in Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.281, on the use of money carried
forward from one biennium to another, shall not apply to money the legislative auditor
carried forward from previous bienniums for use in fiscal years 2010 and 2011. The
legislative auditor may use the carryforward money for any costs related to the conduct of
audits, investigations, and other examinations authorized by law.
