A bill for an act
relating to water policy; establishing the position of state hydrologist; proposing
coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 4.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

The position of hydrologist of the state of Minnesota is established. After considering
any formal recommendation from the Legislative Water Commission established in 2013
H.F. No. 1769, the governor must appoint a qualified employee of the University of
Minnesota to serve as state hydrologist. The state hydrologist must advise the governor
and coordinate water policy among executive branch agencies. The person appointed as
state hydrologist continues to serve until the governor appoints another person.
