  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; providing for racial diversity 
  1.3             training. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [RACIAL DIVERSITY TRAINING.] 
  1.6      The department of children, families, and learning shall 
  1.7   conduct public meetings during the summer of 1996 to receive 
  1.8   input from parents, school districts, and other interested 
  1.9   parties regarding the need for and content of racial diversity 
  1.10  training for hearing officers or hearing review officers 
  1.11  appointed or agreed upon under Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.12  120.17, subdivision 3b.  The meetings must include input 
  1.13  concerning racial diversity training to be given during other 
  1.14  regularly scheduled training.
