  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the governor; reducing the amount 
  1.3             appropriated for the governor; amending Laws 2003, 
  1.4             First Special Session chapter 1, article 1, section 3. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Laws 2003, First Special Session chapter 1, 
  1.7   article 1, section 3, is amended to read: 
  1.8   Sec. 3.  GOVERNOR AND 
  1.9   LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR                    3,586,000      3,586,000
  1.10                                         3,406,700      3,406,700
  1.11  This appropriation is to fund the 
  1.12  offices of the governor and lieutenant 
  1.13  governor.  
  1.14  $19,000 the first year and $19,000 the 
  1.15  second year are for necessary expenses 
  1.16  in the normal performance of the 
  1.17  governor's and lieutenant governor's 
  1.18  duties for which no other reimbursement 
  1.19  is provided. 
  1.20  By September 1 of each year, the 
  1.21  commissioner of finance shall report to 
  1.22  the chairs of the senate governmental 
  1.23  operations budget division and the 
  1.24  house state government finance division 
  1.25  any personnel costs incurred by the 
  1.26  office of the governor and lieutenant 
  1.27  governor that were supported by 
  1.28  appropriations to other agencies during 
  1.29  the previous fiscal year.  The office 
  1.30  of the governor shall inform the chairs 
  1.31  of the divisions before initiating any 
  1.32  interagency agreements. 
  1.33     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective the day 
  1.34  following final enactment.
