A bill for an act
relating to veterans; providing for placement on the Capitol grounds of a
memorial commemorating Minnesotans awarded the Medal of Honor.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin MEMORIAL COMMEMORATING RECIPIENTS OF THE MEDAL
OF HONOR.

new text begin Subject to approval by the Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board, a memorial
may be placed at an appropriate location on the Capitol grounds to honor Minnesotans
awarded the Medal of Honor. The commissioner of veterans affairs shall ensure placement
of an appropriate memorial as authorized by this section and shall accept contributions
from nonstate sources of amounts necessary to pay for the memorial and its placement.
