A bill for an act
relating to education; prohibiting the high school league from limiting athletic
participation of charter school students on the basis of the student's charter
school enrollment; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 128C.02, by
adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 128C.02, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin The league may not adopt rules
and must rescind any current rules that limit or exclude charter school students from
participation in an athletic program, event, or tournament solely on the basis of the
student's charter school enrollment.
